Piano & Keyboard
Great Lakes Academy Of Music offers Piano and Keyboard lessons at local primary schools and in our studio in Forster Keys.
We teach students of all ages and our younger students progress through group, shared and private lessons.
Lessons include a focus on technique, repertoire and theory with an equal balance of fun and games to keep children engaged with their learning each week.
We also offer a range of exam opportunities for more advanced students. These include the more traditional face-to-face AMEB and ANZCA exams as well as video exams which make scheduling exams around school commitments much easier for our high school students.
Our students use an award winning app, Tonara, to review their homework and interact with their teacher between lessons.
Guitar & Ukulele
Guitar lessons are available for students aged 8 and up. We know that just because your child chooses to play guitar this year, doesn't mean they won't want to try something else later on. With this in mind, our experienced teachers will introduce your young guitarist to reading chord charts, tab and formal notation. This means they have the foundation to learn any instrument, or even just to understand the basics of high school music when they get there.
Our guitar students have access to apps and recordings to help with their practice each week. We host regular jam sessions for students to share their talents and collaborate with like-minded kids.
